THE NORTH TEAMS
SELL SIDE

Phil Horton
1st tee Phil

Neil McHaffie
Neil

Russ Evans
The Crooked Finger

Despite making past the red tees but knocking it OB off the 1st last year, Phil once again brought a point home in the opening match. Phil has asked to hit the opening tee shot again!
Neil's patch includes Midlands, North, Scotland and Ireland which include all the best golf courses in the country. Until East Anglia and London get something in the Golf Monthly top 100, he isn't going.
Now and again you hear of legendary feats that simply cant be true. But last year 23 golfers were privileged to witness some truly remarkable golf played with a broken finger that looked like it was stapled back on in Rymans. Legend.

Having lost the last match last year, Gibbo will be looking to make a contribution to the finest team assembled since the last time they were assembled, by not losing.
A Dangerous and Jack combo put a lid on the win for the sell side last year with one match still to play. Could be the practice, some say it was natural talent but I think its something to do with a trip to Fuego's the night before.
JB has covered the northern region for a number of years and clocked up some mileage. His optimistic outlook, swazzy golf swing and cupboard full of prov's means he has become a firm favourite in the industry.

Jack Hecquet
The Postman

Elliot Fowles
The Guv'nor

Matt Jenkins
Jenko

Every team needs a Postman and with one outing and a point delivered, Jack is our man for the Northern edition of the RDRder Cup.
With more swing thoughts than the youtube, Elliot has a love hate relationship with the beautiful game. Lovely guy to play but just make sure you are up to speed on the latest golf tips.
After a fast start of 3 up after 9 last year, Jenko will look to apply the pressure through great banter and long raking draws off the tee. He has a few months to practice both.

Mike Woolley
Woolley

Sam Lynes
Lynesy

Chris Crier
Chris

Some people have natural ability, some have to work at it and some just look like they are made for golf. No one is quite sure where Mike fits in but with more tales than Battersea Dogs Home, you'll be sure to enjoy the round.
In the history of golf, only Vijay Singh has hit more golf balls than Sam.
Sam has a remote control golf trolley.
Now with a position in senior management, has golf taken a back seat or has Chris taken full advantage and signed off on some lovely branded Pro V's? We'll find out in July!
BUY SIDE

James Carr

Steven Lucy

Matt Whelan

Alongside Lucy, James is a ball striker of the highest order and can nudge it around in something low. An assassin in matchplay, you'll be taken out before you realise it.
Despite there being 18.22 billion camera phones in the world, Steven cannot seem to provide a useable photo for the purposes of the RDRder Cup website. Imagine a young, slim Dolph Lungren wielding a set of Titleist blades.
A member of the other Formby, Matt knows how to play a bit. Having taken the scalp of Gibb/Braithwaite last year, Matt will be looking to add to the tally.

Myles Tunstall

Scott Allen

Doug McCance

Gamesmanship chat of 'not playing a lot' was put to rest by the straight drive off the first last year. With more shots than a bar in Marbella in July, Myles is a dangerous competitor.
Scott's game was finely tuned on the links of St Andrews with rolling tight fairways, long putts on double greens and wide fairways. Good luck at Formby Hall!
If we had captains then Doug would be leading the charge for the Buy Side. A champion of the people and competent golfer, an early victory for Doug could give his side the momentum to even up the score.

Alex Snaith

James Penrose

Charles Berry

A well earned half last year against two stalwarts of the industry, Alex will be looking to go one better and take a full point for the team.
With a temperament not unlike a young Ernie Els, James was made for competitive golf. Relaxed, in no rush and ready for battle, the Sell Side could be worn down as they find a way to rattle his game.
Making his debut this year, Charles is the unknown quantity and finding the right partner will be crucial. Having played a bit over the years, we'll see if he reaches for the chief off the 1st. I have a feeling he will.

Andrew Diakou

James Catlow

Tom Mors

A model of consistency on and off the course, Andrew has been at QC for the last 23 years. Solid off the tee with a Corey Pavin like fighting spirit, Andrew is sure to grind out a score.
A tough first outing against the dynamic duo of Woolley and Jenko, and with a mountain to climb after the front 9, James will be looking to make amends this year.
Drafted in to take the game to the sell side, Tom will be driving for show and putting for dough. He will draw the line at taking a divot while making a pivot while never forgetting to swing late whilst transferring his weight.
