Gary Tuffield

Tuffers

Phil's only request is that he goes off first so he can lead the team out into battle. With such steady hands, the careers officer at school said he was an ideal candidate for bomb disposal.

Some call Paul a talisman, some leader but all we know is that he delivers point after point. Kemi's first task was to put a call into Eric Pickles to see if the Postman was coming back to the fold. We'll see.

With more rounds than a builders breakfast played each week, Tuffers is a tough competitor.  When he isn't launching drives, he's launching funds and promises to stay clear of UK Smaller Companies!

Ben Rumary

Chewbacca

With a new broomstick in the bag, Gibbo is an anchor in the sell side and deadly from 10 yards in. Shame the length of the average hole 345 yards.

A consistent and quality member of the sell side. Quietly goes about his business on the golf to great effect and always manages to slip a UK Income factsheet into your scorecard holder.

With a surprisingly soft touch and superb temperament for a big man, a Chewbacca / Postman combo could teach Molliwood a thing or two.

Matt Jenkins

Jenko

The mother in laws favourite is once again providing balance to the delinquents in the sell side. Lovely guy to partner with, especially with a smattering of net birdies over the card.

A top trump for the sell side and bookies favourite for longest drive again. Cookie promises to use a golf club this year despite the Grey Nicholls sponsorship.

The Judith Chalmers of the industry has clocked up more miles golfing than Philias Fog. Look out for Jenko's book release, Around The World in 1001 Golf Courses.

David Cameron

Making his debut this year, natural sportsman Chris has only recently taken up the game and is making some real progress with regular lessons. His pro said they'll start using real golf balls soon.

In the history of golf, only Vijay Singh has hit more golf balls than Sam.

Sam has a remote control golf trolley.

With a switch to Liontrust as smooth as a Fonzi entrance in Happy Days, the London Wealth Management community have forgotten why they bought all those RLAM funds in the first place.

Charlie Dixon

One half of the Springbok contingent in the buy side team, David gives it a good swipe and could be dangerous if he played a bit more.

The fun exterior hides a fierce competitor not seen since a young Seve teed it up in the 1985 Ryder Cup. Matt has spent the last year trawling the internet to find a spare remote control for a golf trolley.

The annual golf bash wouldn't be complete without a Harris / Dixon pairing. The 'Oli & Seve' of the industry are a must each year in the morning fourballs and could only be tamed last year by a rampant Higgs.

Peter Harris

Making his debut this year, Ed is an unknown quantity and comes without the scar tissue of previous encounters. We look forward to seeing how Ed manages the pressure of the first tee shot.

Best, McIroy, Jennings, McGuigan, Clarke, Higgins, McCoy, McDowell are all names we think of when we talk about sporting greats from Northern Ireland.  David is also from Northern Ireland.

Gary Player famously wore black as he claimed he drew energy from the sun. Pete is famously recognisable at distance for his green shorts. No one is sure how long the bet lasts for. A lovely natural putter of the ball with the traditional blade.

J Mack

Andy's unusual early exit in the 2024 Double Top In The City Darts Championship makes The Butcher a deadly opponent as he looks to make amends in the second biggest industry sporting event this year.

Trumps re-election has James concerned as he adjusts his sombrero whilst riding his horse on the way to  Hoebridge for the 2025 edition. The 2023 Farleigh Court performance still casts a shadow over the sell side team.

Rumours are abound that J Mack regularly beats 'The Postman' around their home track Thorndon. Clearly a rumour started to unsettle the sell side into the first defeat since 2019. Watch out for those rascal golf shoes.

Hamish Barton image_edited.jpg

Hamish Barton

Nathan is an expert at windy links, rolling fairways, fast greens, burnt wire like rough, dry hard fairways, tight sandy lies, running balls into greens and the Texas wedge. I don't think Nathan has played Hoebridge.

One of the nicest guys in the industry but don't let that you fool you. Will punish you for celebrating a bunch of fives, so time will tell on the length of a gimmie for the sell side..... I would just hole out.

For a number of years now Hamish has proved himself in the scrum, in a ruck and has never been afraid to put up a challenge for the ball. The golf club secretary has put his membership on hold until his course etiquette improves.
