THE SOUTH TEAMS
SELL SIDE

Phil Horton
1st tee Phil

Paul Faragher
The Postman

Gary Tuffield
Tuffers
Phil makes a welcome return to the annual golf shenanigans after a lawn bowls injury put him out for the season. Having listened to some Paul McKenna and Derren Brown, not only is Phil ready for the 1st tee shot, he is also a strong confident woman.
As host this year playing on his own course should help young Paul regain some of the form we have missed in recent encounters, putting him back where he belongs. Redelivery expected is in June - you better be in.
Having rolled back the years at last years event, Tuffers flew the flag for the silver haired contingent showing those 'generation whatever's' how to nudge it around without breaking into a sweat. Gary also thinks UK small caps are definitely worth a look.

Andy Gibb
Gibbo

David Firth
Firthy

Ben Rumary
Chewbacca
With a few decent knocks on the cards, Gibbo has been cut to a 3 handicap. The remainder of the year will be played with a top flight ball, set of blades and a persimmon driver to nudge up that number before the 2026 edition.
With more stability than a Citroen BX, Firthy continues to thrive on the ups and downs of matchplay golf. Likely to be sent early out in the afternoon to secure a quick point for the team.
Ben has shown his disappointment at having to play on the second best golf course in Essex for the 2026 edition of the RDRder Cup. We look forward to Ben sporting some rival club merch on the day.

Henry Jones
Henders

Kristian Cook
Hooky Cookie

Matt Jenkins
Jenko
The mother in laws favourite is once again providing balance to the delinquents in the sell side. Lovely guy to partner with, especially with a smattering of net birdies over the card.
A top trump for the sell side and bookies favourite for longest drive again. Cookie promises to use a golf club this year despite the Grey Nicholls sponsorship.
Having crossed off most of the worlds top 100 courses, Jenko looks forward to slumming it with us for the annual golf bash. Now very much looking like part of the team with the right shirt.

Chris Elliot
Big Chris

Sam Lynes
Lynesy

Gary Higgs
David Cameron
Having completed running, cycling and sales, Chris is focussing on getting his game in peak form for what he considers the 'trip up north'. I have assured Chris that we are just the same but with cheaper council tax and more Reform voters.
Sam has a remote control golf trolley.
Despite potentially being the Prime Minister this country needs, Lord Higgs continues to do his bit for the good folks at Liontrust. Can be found frequenting the trendy spots London or a top 100 course in Surrey.
BUY SIDE

David Winckler

Matt Wiles

Charlie Dixon
2 points from 2 in last years event, proved Dave's worth in the Buy side, but it wasn't enough to stop the Sell from retaining the trophy. A longest drive contender and a good bet for all time highest point scorer.
Having trounced a member of the sell side around Sheringham in the summer, Matt is looking to capitalise on that momentum into 2026. Can unleash the driver at will, as long as will is standing on the right.
The annual golf bash wouldn't be complete without a Harris / Dixon pairing. The 'Oli & Seve' of the industry are a must each year in the morning fourballs and could only be tamed last year by a rampant Higgs.

Ed Rothwell

Matthew Fry

Peter Harris
Ed's relentless fairway finding cover driven 5 iron is relentless and could well grind down the opposition. The ageing sell side may have seen it all before will need to overcome the barrage to take a point off Ed.
Making his debut this year, Matt is a welcome addition to the buy side. As an ex professional footballer, Matt will be well prepared for the barrage of abuse on the 1st tee. The Sell side may also give Matt a big of stick too.
Gary Player famously wore black as he claimed he drew energy from the sun. Pete is famously recognisable at distance for his green shorts. No one is sure how long the bet lasts for. A lovely natural putter of the ball with the traditional blade.

Andy Butcher
The Butcher

James Twidale
Los Banditos

Jonathan Mack
J Mack
Andy's laid back style masks a fierce competitor and a regular thorn in the sales team side. As popular as a young Fleetwood, Andy proves to be an easy one to partner up with.
Having beaten the pro last year, the R&A have been notified about a handicap more dodgy than a £27 note. James insists his medal rounds are in line with his handicap, although the raking 280 yards drives and consistent 10 footers would suggest otherwise.
As a host this year, J Mack knows every bump, hollow and slope on Thorndon's immaculate greens and alongside The Postman could make an unbeatable duo. Could.

Nathan Delaney

Rupert Webb

Hamish Barton
Nathan is an expert at windy links, rolling fairways, fast greens, burnt wire like rough, dry hard fairways, tight sandy lies, running balls into greens and the Texas wedge. I don't think Nathan has played Thorndon Park.
The only golfer to have a hole in one in the history of the RDRder Cup, Rupert will now be working towards a nine darter at the annual Double Top event - that may take a little longer.
For a number of years now Hamish has proved himself in the scrum, in a ruck and has never been afraid to put up a challenge for the ball. The golf club secretary has put his membership on hold until his course etiquette improves.
